About Us

Sufianto & Partners is a boutique law firm focusing on civil and commercial law, complex commercial disputes, arbitration, and strategic advisory matters.

We advise clients in navigating legal issues that often extend beyond the law itself. While our practice is rooted in dispute resolution, we recognise that effective legal counsel often begins long before a dispute arises.

We therefore assist clients not only in resolving conflicts but also in identifying risks, structuring commercial arrangements, negotiating contracts, and navigating complex legal and business challenges.

Our approach combines strategic thinking, practical advice, and a clear understanding of the legal and commercial realities surrounding each matter. Whether preventing disputes, managing them, or bringing them to a conclusion, our objective remains the same: helping clients make informed decisions with confidence.

Your Business, Your Matters, Your Side of the Table.

Commercial relationships ideally begin with trust — the most valuable element in any transaction, long before the parties consider contracts, security arrangements, or dispute resolution clauses. Yet it can also become a double-edged sword: unspoken matters that seemed to be straightforward at the outset may later lead to disagreement.

Sufianto & Partners is built on a simple belief: every legal problem has an underlying structure. Before recommending a solution, we seek to understand the mechanics of the dispute itself and treat your matters as if they were our own.

When disputes arise, it is important to understand not only the law, but also the parties' intent, how the transaction was meant to operate, what incentives drive decision-making, and where meaningful leverage exists. The legal position matters, and so do the commercial realities surrounding it.

Core Values

Three interconnected principles that work together in every matter we handle.

Clarity

Legal advice should be understood before it is acted upon. Effective legal counsel begins with clear communication; complex issues become simpler when the underlying matters are explained properly. Our role is not merely to identify rules, but to translate them into practical advice that clients can confidently act upon.

Deliberate

Every legal issue has an underlying mechanism to be identified, tailored, and implemented to suit its purpose. Before recommending a course of action, we seek to understand the relevant relationships, obligations, incentives, and risks — focusing on the root of the matter, not merely its symptoms.

Pragmatic

Every matter presents different risks, opportunities, commercial realities, and objectives. We believe that effective advocacy is much like a coin: one side demands firm and decisive action; the other requires measured persuasion. Knowing when to rely on each allows us to protect our clients' interests with the approach best suited to the matter.

Practice Areas

We focus on the legal work where commercial judgment, dispute strategy, and practical execution need to move together from the start.

Learn the mechanics. The rest follows.

At Sufianto & Partners, we believe that every legal issue has an underlying mechanism. Before discussing legal labels, articles, or doctrines, we seek to identify the relationships, incentives, risks, and commercial realities that shape a matter.

We encourage our team to think from first principles, question assumptions, and understand the reasoning behind every position they take. Good ideas can come from anyone, regardless of title or seniority. Inside the office, we challenge ideas — before clients, we stand as one team.
